【摘要】:Sincesomepotentiallyadhesivematerialsareboththermoplasticandhygroscopic,thistestmethodprovidesmeansforestimating,onthesamematerial,boththermoplasticandhygroscopicblocking.Becausesomerequirementsaremorestrictthanothers,twovaryingdegreesofblockingarerecognizedanddefined:(1)Firstdegreeblocking,and(2)Seconddegreeblocking.Twotypesofblockingarecovered:(1)Cohesiveblocking,and(2)Adhesiveblocking.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheblockingpointofathermoplasticorahygroscopiclayerorcoatingofpotentiallyadhesivematerial.Potentiallyadhesivematerialscomprisethosematerialsinasubstantiallynonadhesivestatewhichmaybeactivatedtoanadhesivestatebyapplicationofheatorsolvents.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
