【摘要】:Dataatground-watersitesaregatheredformanypurposes,eachofwhichgenerallyrequiresaspecificsetofdataelements.Forexample,whenground-waterqualityisaconcern,notonlyaretheminimumsetofdataelementsrequiredforthesite,butinformationconcerningthesamplecollectiondepthinterval,methodofcollection,anddateandtimeofcollectionareneededtofullyqualifythedata.Anothergroupofelementsarerecommendedforeachuseofthedata,suchasaquifercharacteristicsorwater-levelrecords.Normallythemoreinformationthatisgatheredaboutasitebyfieldpersonnel,theeasieritistounderstandtheground-waterconditionsandtoreachvalidconclusionsandinterpretationsregardingthesite.ThedataelementslistedinthisguideandGuidesD5409andD5410shouldassistinplanningwhatinformationcanbegatheredforaground-watersiteandhowtodocumentthesedata.Note68212;Someimportantdataelementsmaychangeduringtheexistenceofasite.Forexample,theelevationofthemeasuringpointusedforthemeasurementofwaterlevelsmaybemodifiedbecauseofrepairorreplacementofequipment.Thisfrequentlyoccurswhenthemeasuringpointisanopeninginthepumpandthepumpismodifiedorreplaced.Becausechangescannotalwaysbeanticipated,itispreferabletoreferencetheheightofthemeasuringpointtoanearby,permanentaltitudedatum.Themeasuringpointisreferencedbybeingthesamealtitude(zerocorrection)orabove(negativecorrection)orbelow(pluscorrection)thealtitudedatum.Allappropriatemeasurementsshouldbecorrectedinreferencetothealtitudedatumbeforeentryintothepermanentrecord.Caremustbeexercisedtokeeptherelationshipofthesedataelementsconsistentthroughoutthedurationofthesite.Somedataelementshaveanextensivelistofcomponents.Forexample,theaquiferidentificationlistdescribedinGuideD5409,hasover5000components.Lengthylistsofpossiblecomponentsarenotincludedinthisguide,however,informationonwheretoobtainthesecomponentsisincludedwiththespecificdataelement.Note78212;Thisguideidentifiesmanysources,lists,etc.,ofinformationrequiredtocompletelydocumentinformationaboutanyground-watersite.1.1ThisguidecoversPartOneofthreeguidestobeusedinconjunctionwithPracticeD5254thatdelineatesthedatadesirabletodescribeaground-waterdatacollectionorsamplingsite.Thisguidedescribesadditionalinformationbeyondtheminimumsetofdataelementsthatmaybeneededtoidentifyaground-watersite.PartTwoidentifiesphysicaldescriptors,suchasconstruction,forasite,whilePartThreeidentifiesusagedescriptors,suchasmonitoring,foranindividualground-watersite.Note18212;Aground-watersiteisdefinedasanysource,location,orsamplingstationcapableofproducingwaterorhydrologicdatafromanaturalstratumfrombelowthesurfaceoftheearth.Asourceorfacilitycanincludeawell,springorseep,anddrainortunnel(nearlyhorizontalinorientation).Othersources,suchasexcavations,drivendevices,boreholes,ponds,lakes,andsinkholes,thatcanbeshowntobehydraulicallyconnectedtothegroundwater,areappropriatefortheuseintended.Note28212......
