【摘要】:ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiestwoalternativetestmethods,inthesenseofanextractiontestwitha'moresevere'testcharacter,fortheassessmentoftheoverallmigrationintofattyfoodsimulants.MethodAisbasedonthedeterminationoftheextractionofmigrateablesubstancesfromplasticswhichareintendedtocomeintocontactwithfoodstuffs,bytotalimmersioninnon-polar,iso-octane,and/orpolar,ethanol,solventsdependingonthepolarityofthepackagingmaterial.Accordingtoresultsobtainedbythismethod(see[1],[2],[3],[4],[5])andtakingphysio-chemicalconsiderationsintoaccount,theobtainedextractionefficiencyhas,generally,beenfoundtobeequivalenttoorhigherthanoverallmigrationresultsobtainedunderthetestconditions,10daysat40°C,2hat70°C,1hat100°C,30minat121°Cand30minat130°C.Toensureascompleteaspossibleextractionofthepotentialmigrants,astronginteraction,e.g.swelling,ofthesamplebytheextractionsolventisnecessary.Forthispurpose,iso-octaneisusedasanextractionsolventforplasticsmaterialsandarticlescontainingnonpolarfoodcontactlayers,suchaspolyolefins.Fortestsamplesmadefrompolarfoodcontactplasticssuchaspolyamideandpolyethyleneterephthalate,95%(v/v)aqueousethanolisused.Forpolystyrenes,plasticizedpolyvinylchlorideandotherpolymerswheretheidentificationorpolarityofthepolymerisnotclear,twoparallelextractiontestsshouldbeconductedusingbothoftheproposedextractionsolventsandtakingthehighervalueobtainedastherelevantresult.NOTE1Incaseofmultilayerstructuressuchasplasticslaminatesandco-extrudedplastics,thenatureofthefoodcontactlayerdeterminestheselectionoftheextractionsolvent(s).Thistestmethodshouldonlybeappliedtoflexiblepackagingswhicharelessthan300μminthickness.WhentheresultdoesnotexceedtheallowedoverallmigrationlimitthenthematerialcanbeconsideredtobeincompliancewithECregulations.Ifthetestresultexceedstheallowedoverallmigrationlimitthefollowingoptionsmaybeappliedchronologicallywithrespecttofurthermigrationtesting:1)single-sidedextractiontestusingacell,iftechnicallyfeasible(seeclause4MethodBofthisstandard);2)conventionalmigrationtestusingoliveoilorotherfattyfoodsimulants;NOTE2TheoverallmigrationlimitisspecifiedinCommissionDirective90/128/EEC[7]andtheconditionsoftestinCouncilDirective82/711/EEC[8]anditssubsequentamendments,[9],[10].MethodBisapplicableinthosecaseswherethetotalimmersiontest,EN1186-15MethodA,yieldstotalextractionvaluesthatexceedtheoverallmigrationormaybetechnicallyunsuitable,i.e.inthecaseofmultilayerstructures,suchasplasticslaminatesandco-extrudedfilms.Thistestmethodshouldprimarilyonlybeappliedtoflexiblepackagingswithaphysicalbarrierlayer(forinstanceofaluminiumorothermaterialtopreventpenetrativelossofextractionsolvent)andwhichhaveathinnerfoodcontactlayerthan300μm.IftheresultdoesnotexceedtheallowedoverallmigrationlimitthenthematerialcanbeconsideredtobeincompliancewithECregulations.Ifthetestresultexceedstheallowedoverallmigrationlimitthenthefollowingoptionmaybeappliedwithrespecttofurthermigrationtesting:-conventionalmigrationtestusingoliveoilorotherfattyfoodsimulants.NOTE3MethodsAandBarenotapplicabletotestmaterialsintendedforapplicationsover130°C.NOTE4Testmaterialsintendedforapplicationsover70°Cshouldbecheckedfortheirphysicalsuitabilityattheintendedtimeandtemperatureofuse.
