【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesasimpleprocedureforobtaininginformationonthefiberlengthdistributionofsuitableasbestosfiber.Theuseofrelativelylowcostapparatus,smalltestspecimens,andashorttestperiod,enhancetheusefulnessofthistestmethod.Normally,resultsobtainedbythistestmethodarereproducibleundercomparablelaboratoryconditions.However,closeagreementcannotbeexpectedunlessalldeviationsfromtheprocedure,howeverminor,areavoided.Moreover,resultsforlongerfibergradesareinfluencedtoagreaterextentbydifferencesinfiberlengthdistribution,andcharacteristics,thanarethoseforshortergrades.Thistestissuitableforspecificationacceptanceandmanufacturingcontrol.Itisassumedthatallundersizedfibers,andonlythose,willpassthroughanygivensieveaperture.However,thisidealizedconditionisnotnormallyachieved.Thus,resultsshouldnotbemisconstruedastruelengthdistributiondata.1.1ThistestmethodcoverstheoperationoftheTurnerandNewall(TandN)wetsievingclassifierforasbestos,andaprocedureforthedeterminationoffiberlengthdistributionandfines(definedinTerminologyD2946)contentofmilledasbestosfiber(x2212;74x03BC;m[200mesh])sievedescribedinSpecificationE11.1.2Forpurposesofestimatinglengthdistribution,thetestislimitedtosamplesfreefromexcessivequantitiesofnon-fibrousparticlesorcontaminants.Quantitiesexceeding0.05gretainedinanygivenlengthfractionsareconsideredexcessive.1.3Forcomparisonsbetweendifferentfibergrades,onlythosespecimenswhichhaveapproximatelythesamedegreeoffiberizationasdeterminedbyTestMethodsD2752willgivecompletelymeaningfulresults.1.4Thistestmethodisnotapplicabletoultrafinegradesofasbestospowderswhichcontainlittleornofibersretainedona74-x03BC;m[200mesh]sieve.ThismethodisrestrictedtoQuebecStandardgrades4Ato7DinclusiveasdeterminedbyTestMethodD3639.Note18212;ThisisanalternativeproceduretoTestMethodD2589.1.5ThevaluesstatedineitherSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemmaynotbeexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemshallbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnon-conformancewiththestandard.1.6Warningx2014;Breathingofasbestosdustishazardous.Asbestosandasbestosproductspresentdemonstratedhealthrisksforusersandforthosewithwhomtheycomeintocontact.Inadditiontootherprecautions,whenworkingwithasbestos-cementproducts,minimizethedustthatresults.Forinformationonthesafeuseofchrysoltileasbestos,refertox201C;SafeUseofChrysotileAsbestos:AManualonPreventiveandControlMeasures.x201D;1.7Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyan......
